Bogen/Manfrotto 501HDV Heavy Duty Tripod Head
The 501HDV is the latest update of the original 501 head. This all-metal tripod head is rated by Bogen for up to 13.3 pounds- easily handles larger binoculars such as the Oberwerk 22x100 or the Oberwerk 25x100 IF. The head has smooth fluid movements and separate pan and tilt locks. This head also features a counterspring that helps offset heavier loads as the head tilts away from center, so less tension is necessary on the tilt bearing. The counterspring has an engage/disengage lever. Dovetail quick release plate has both 1/4" and 3/8" screws and features a safety lock. Pan handle mounts to either side. Head mounts to any 3/8" tripod, such as the Bogen/Manfrotto 475B or the Oberwerk Wooden Tripod.
