Does your home or office have a fabulous view? Oceanfront, lakefront, hillside, mountain, and penthouse properties, as well as upper-level high-rise offices- all of these offer views that are greatly enhanced with a high-quality optical instrument. All too often, the choice is the ubiquitous brass telescope. The problem with this choice is that the typical brass telescope is meant to be decorative, and is not built with the highest-quality optics (many are in fact very poorly made, from an optical perspective). Even if the optics were of excellent quality, one 2" or 3" objective simply cannot compare to two 4" objectives. For less than the cost of that brass telescope, you could own one of the highest-quality binoculars available. Optical superiority aside, we think the Oberwerk 25/40x100mm binocular, with it's Chinese military heritage, over-engineered construction, and extra-sturdy hardwood tripod, is better-looking and certainly more interesting than a brass telescope. Binocular astronomy is considerably more demanding of optic quality than daytime terrestrial observing. Because of this, every binocular we sell is tested (and adjusted if necessary) to perform well for binocular astronomy. This means you are assured of receiving a perfectly adjusted and well-collimated instrument, even if your binoculars will not be used on the night sky (however, we highly recommend that you give this a try).
